Screw Down Crowns: Many Invicta watches are equipped with a screw down crown to help prevent water infiltration. This is most common on our Diver models. In order to adjust the date and/or time on such a watch, you must first unscrew the crown before you can gently pull it out to its first or second click stop position. To do this, simply rotate the crown counterclockwise until it springs open. When you have finished setting the watch, the crown must then be pushed in and screwed back in tightly. Not doing so will cancel the water resistance of the watch and will void all warranties from the manufacturer. Overall, this process should not require a lot of effort or force.

Automatic Watches

Automatic watches do not operate on batteries. Automatic watches are made up of about 130 or more parts that work together to tell time. Automatic movements mark the passage of time by a series of gear mechanisms, and are wound by the movement of your wrist as you wear it. The gear train then transmits the power to the escapement, which distributes the impulses, turning the balance wheel. The balance wheel is the time regulating organ of a mechanical watch, which vibrates on a spiral hairspring. Lengthening or shortening the balance spring makes the balance wheel go faster or slower to advance or retard the watch. The travel of the balance wheel from one extreme to the other and back again is called oscillation. Lastly, automatic movements come in different types, including movements that are Swiss-made, Japanese-made, and more.

Also referred to as self-winding, watches with automatic movements utilize kinetic energy, the swinging of your arm, to provide energy to an oscillating rotor to keep the watch ticking. They’re considered more satisfying to watch collectors (horologists) because of the engineering artistry that goes into the hundreds of parts that make up the movement. If you do not wear an automatic watch consistently (for about 8 to 12 hours a day), you can keep the watch powered with a watch winder (a great gift for collectors).

Husband loves it!!

My husband is very picky. He LOVES this watch. He has gone through a lot of them and loves that it’s dressy yet casual and can wear it anywhere. He loves that it’s a substantial weight and the bracelet came extra long. He’s 6’2 and “large boned”. Had a watch repair shop take a couple links out for only $5. Great investment.

great value

This watch is HUGE…looks great, not real fancy, but well built and solid. Uses the 21 jewell miyota japanese movement so should be more than reliable. Invicta makes a good product for the money!

Looks better in real than photos

I had this watch for a while. I think photos don’t look so good as the watch in real. It’s also bigger than it looks. Solid, stainless steel, not heavy. The embossed numbers in the dial look strong.

Some friends found it very nice. Would like to see it with saphire crystal for a complete 5 star ranking. Price is great, very cheap for what you get.

I recently bought a Casio MDV-102 (BEST DIVERS WATCH FROM CASIO)

I love the watch (read my review of it) However the band was a hard plastic and wore the skin off my wrist in 2 places.

I work with Silicone a lot and always knew how durable and flexible it was so when i saw this 22mm Silicone band i had to give it a try..

this band is incredible!!! it feels oily smooth, super flexable and rubbery (soft rubbery) contours around your wrist.

This band will most likely outlast your watch lol (hopefully not haha)

Best watchband ever.

My old (cloth) watchband was wearing out and starting to smell bad. This new watchband fit the bill perfectly. It is supple and lightweight. This makes it comfortable to wear at all times. The silicone rubber sheds water and the tread patterns seem to help it breathe. I never need to take it off. The length was perfect for my small to medium sized wrist. Shipping was very quick. I would highly recommend this watchband to anyone looking for functionality, good looks, and comfort.

When I purchased my new watch I noticed that people had commented that the band that came with it was stiff and hard to fasten. I purchased the silicone band because it was supposed to be soft and comfortable. It truly lived up to it’s reviews. It is the most comfortable band I have ever worn in 77 years. The only problem someone might have is if they have a large wrist. This band is perfect for me. My wrist is approximately 7 1/4 inches. It would also depend on the watch size. Watch

The watch is really nice and big. Everyone loves it. Unfortunately within 3 weeks screws started falling. I was lucky enough to find them so I did not have to deal with their customer support.

Know what you are buying

The watch came to my house close to 10AM where it sat outside at -30F (Alaska) all day until I came home close to 6:30PM.

Of course, due to the cold weather, the watch was covered in frost, and I could not see the face because of this. After about 10 minutes of warming up, the watch was ticking fine.

The casing of the watch is a sturdy metal, with a smooth black bezel over the crystal. The picture absolutely does not do this watch justice at all.

The feel is incredibly heavy if held in hand. However, once strapped on, within 10 minutes you forget you are wearing it. The shape of the watch fits nicely against the wrist.

My only complaint about the watch is the angles of it make it harder to slide your arm forward (when wearing a long sleeve shirt) to allow the watch to come into view.

I am NOT a diver, but I am a watch enthusiast. I WILL purchase another Swiss Legend watch, even if not on sale.

Stands test of time….

I’ve had this watch for about 2-1/2 years. Save for special occasions, this has been my “everday” watch for work and play. Now believe me, I am VERY hard on watches in my work at a fire department. It regularly gets wet and takes some pretty hard knocks.

It’s a nice size, good looking watch that keeps perfect time. But, most of all, that 18K plating looks as it did when it was new! I’ve owned watches where just light rubbing for a month or so strips the plating from the underside of the watch band enough that the base metal shows through.

This watch is truly a rugged piece of workmanship! Best money I’ve ever spent.

A beautiful watch for a small wrist

I was looking for a water resistant watch but I have a very small wrist and did not want something massive. Most diving watches are very large. The Invicta 4610 proved to be perfect. Its case is only 24 millimeters in diameter( the smallest case in Invicta’s collection) The 18K gold-plated band looks rich and is very comfortable with three links removed. I would advise anyone looking to buy a watch on line, to pay attention to the diameter of the case so as to get an idea of how the watch will look on your particular sized wrist. I read some reviews of women who were disappointed when they realized that the watch they ordered was too massive for their wrist. You can’t just tell by the pictures. Anyways, I would definitely recommend this watch for a women with a small wrist. It’s comfortable and is even better looking than its photo. As to the durability, I can’t comment on that as yet since I have just had the watch for a few days.

Love it!

Just received the watch for Christmas so can’t comment on longevity. It looks beautiful on and the price is great!!!! Also love the extended warranty that was offered.

Solid dive watch and fun gadget

This is the second Citizen Eco-Drive watch I have purchased, having been very pleased with my Caliber 2100. I was looking for a nice dive watch with an analogue dial, a rotating bezel, and good luminosity. I have a fondness for mechanical watches, but for sport diving I wanted a cool gadget with a depth guage to use as a back-up, and those only come in electronic watches. Since I already trusted Citizen’s workmanship and design, I picked this one out.

The watch has a tough stainless steel case which is large enough to be a good dive watch but not as ridiculously large as some of the ugly watches on the market. The case is not very thin, but because of the design with its beveled case back and bezel ring, it feels thin and it’s not a problem putting my hand in my pocket. The two-tone rotating bezel has a solid, snappy feel to it, but is not too tight to turn with dive gloves on. The function buttons should not be pushed under water, but there is no reason to as the depth guage activates automatically when wet and the bezel is external. The brass crown is a strong screw-down device which sticks out a bit far, which is good for grasping but bad for catching on things.

The dial is a bit busy, but the minute and hour hands are not too hard to find at a glance, and the luminious hands and markers are very bright and highly visible. Unlike the Caliber 2100, however, the luminous paint is a green color rather than blue, and while it is very bright, it does not stay bright as long. In deep water it’s still easy to see and shining a flashlight on it for a few seconds brightens it back up.

The date is easy to read, and so is the red multi-function hand, which serves as the depth guage needle when submerged, when dry as a battery charge indicator, and in chrono mode as a stopwatch second hand. The bottom subdial is the small seconds indicator for normal time-telling, and the left-hand subdial is a 24-hr hand. The top subdial is the chronograph minutes dial, which runs to a maximum of 50 minutes.

The chronograph function is odd since it’s not very useful. To activate the chrono mode you have to hold down the lower function button for a few seconds and then wait for the multifunction hand to wind around to the zero position, and only then can you start the chrono by pushing the upper function button. The chrono only runs for 50 minutes. If you don’t start it after a few minutes it unwinds and goes back to normal mode. This means you can’t start it quickly and you can’t keep it at the ready for very long. Fortunately, this function is not needed for diving but is only an extra feature.

The rubber strap is long enough to fit around the wrist of most wet suit arms, although a thick wet suit and gloves together make it difficult. There is a no-decompression limits table on the strap, a sturdy stainless buckle and two stainless keepers.

I’ve found the watch to be very accurate, as expected for an Eco Drive. It’s comfortable and fairly good-looking, and the anti-reflective mineral crystal is effective. I put it to the test in deep, murky, ice-cold quarry lake water where I took it to a maximum depth of 75 feet and repeated shallower dives thereafter for 2 days. The depth guage worked as advertised, matching my dive rig guage, and the last dive recorded feature also worked great. The dial was acceptably readable even in the deep murkiness. I’ve worn it in swimming pool and once I took it into a hot spa before I realized what I was doing, but it didn’t seem to harm it, although I don’t recommend that kind of abuse for any watch.

I am very pleased with this watch. It’s not as upscale or fashionable as a Tag Huer or an Omega Seamaster, but it’s got a quality high-accuracy Citizen quartz movement, it’s light-powered so you don’t have to open the watertight case for a battery change, and it’s got the depth guage, which is one of the most useful and cool complications a dive watch can have. Even if you already have one of the Swiss luxury divers, this might make a good solid back-up watch for the next dive trip, and it’s not bad-looking in the office, either.

nice watch

only had it for a short time, but it seems like a great watch. chronograph is only in min/sec increments (no tenths), so if you’re looking for that you’ll be disappointed. stays at the “LV1″ charge-level most of the time, but will sneak up to “LV2″ on a sunny day. haven’t used the dive function (and don’t really plan to). seconds hand is kinda small, but the 24-hr hand is a nice touch. bought this watch to replace my last citizen watch, which i purchased in january 1988 and finally retired it in march 2008, so i hope this one will last as long.

Nice understated diving watch

I like this because, while it has the “bling” factor and looks great, it’s not so huge that it seems overstated. The metal strap bands tend to catch my armhair a little, but the rubber band is comfortable.

Starting with the main plate, the assembly process is performed in several consecutive stages up until anchoring the balance spring, which sets the watch into motion. Assembling a Stuhrling Original mechanical automatic movement comprises no less than 30 checkpoints, spread throughout the assembly process. Adjusting the angle of lift of the pallets, centering the balance-spring, poising the balance are just a few examples of these checkpoints; of which all are designed to enhance the performance of each movement. The movement must meet no less than seven criteria, including a mean variation in rate which is the highest standard in the industry in its class.

Stuhrling Original cases are distinguished by their technical complexity, their high-end aesthetic appeal and the quality of their finish. The watch cases are made from antimagnetic 316L surgical grade stainless steel, an extremely sophisticated alloy designed to stand up to intensive use. The rough parts, known as “middlecases” are blanked from a metal bar using a high-performance press. They then undergo eight successive stamping operations of a strength increasing gradually from 20 to 85 tons. Before each swaging operation, the middlecase is refired at a temperature of 1100 degrees Celsius, so as to temporarily reduce the hardness to a total stamping pressure of more than 400 tons. Finishing the cases then calls for fifteen polishing operations, all performed by hand alternating with nine baths guaranteeing immaculate cleanliness. Other components of the cases, such as rotating bezels or rider tabs also require a meticulous finish. The components of the cases are finally assembled by hand and rigorously tested.

Each Stuhrling Original dial has been designed to enable optimal read-off at a glance, while adding an element of artistic design. Stuhrling Original’s dials are blanked from a brass plate and two cylindrical feet are soldered below to ensure security with the movement. Polishing operations, creating special effects through the use of vintage hydraulic German machines, and electroplating are just some of the more than forty operations required to make most StuhrlingOriginal dials. The transparent protective coating is applied in an immaculately clean environment before the various inscriptions are transfer printed using a gelatin pad which takes an impression from an inked block. On many of the dials the hour markers are either individually applied by hand or embossed into the dial and then topped with a special dye. The application of Super Luminova is performed by artisans with a nozzle pen connected to a high-pressure pipe which calls for intense concentration. Once finished, each dial undergoes careful aesthetic scrutiny under extreme magnification, as well as technical testing, to ensure it complies with all predefined dimensions and specifications.

Swiss quartz without buyers remorse.

This is a great watch for any man of modest means who dreams of owning a Omega Seamaster or similar without going into debt. The watch came in an orange case with warrenty card & return envelope, polishing cloth and a neat “credit” type card verifying authenticity. I am most impressed with the watch itself. The watch markers really do “glow” in the dark just like higher priced diving watches(this is a really nice because so many watch brands advertise “luminous” hands that are anything but!). The date window cyclops is prboably 1.5 x’s magnification (not 2.+x’s like a Rolex) which is really easy to read without squinting:) Plase read the manual before attemping to set the date/time as the mechanism can be damaged if set during certain times of the day. At first blush the band clasp seemed kinda cheap but the double locking clasp is just fine. I took my watch to a jewler to take out a few links for a perfect fit. The watch is large and will make an impression! The cystel is very clear and resists glare. I chose quartz after reading a bad review for the automatic version of this watch. The jewler who adjusted the band had a $1300.00 Omega Seamaster that I compared to my watch. The band on the Omega was heavier and the clasp is more substantial. But @ $129.00 this watch is a real bargain for the money.

Stuhrling Men’s Clpper Divers Watch is Great!

I received this watch as a Christmas present and was impressed right away with the box! Once inside the box, I found my amazing time piece. I could tell right away that it was a very high quality watch. I like the weight, not too heavy, but heavy enough. The blue dial and bezel are striking on the stainless and gold background. Overall, I’m very impressed!

A good looking piece, but lacking in subtlety.

This watch is a good value for the money, but the design is brutal. I like a timepiece with a little more nuance than the Sturling, which is solid, heavy, with a thick band, large dial, and conspicuous knobs.

Even on the absolute tightest setting the band was too loose on my wrist(circumference ca. 8-9 inches). This is a watch for big dudes with wrists like pro-wrestlers and fingers like polish sausages. This is a watch for dudes who don’t say “dude”. Ever.

The face resists scratches very well, and the construction of the band and clasp is solid. The gold on the band scratches relatively easily, but its not as noticeable as you might think. Time keeping is accurate, battery has a good life-span. Over all, the watch looks more expensive than it is, which is either something that appeals to you or not. I doubt anyone would actually take this diving…

The Beast!

I’m surprised there’s not very many reviews on this watch. It’s absolutely gorgeous. The first thing people do when they meet you is look at your wrist. The downside is it takes some getting used to due to its sheer size, the crown cover can dig into the back of your hand and be annoying. But with proper fitting and regular usage, you’ll rarely know it’s there. Until you look in that direction. It appears to be of high quality materials and keeps excellent time. My other “big” watches seem puny to me now. My ultimate watch.

BIG DADDY!

Very nice watch. Nice feel, texture, and people will stop you in the middle of the street to compliment you. But be warned its a LARGE watch. IF you are a small man, youll look funny with it, but if you are a larger man, looking for a larger man watch this one is for you.

versitle masterpiece

i have been a collector af oversized watches for a looog time. the invicta line just seems to get better with each new release. this item is perfect for sport (black leather) to dress (black tie). this watch never fails to get noticed and complimented. i feel it is even better than the subaqua line as this watch has nice balance and proportion.
